This Clinical Pharmacy programme at Near East University will provide you rational and correct drug use by combining the clinical and biochemical findings of the patient with the patient’s narrative when working at the community pharmacy or hospital environment. Identifying the medicines to be used or investigating and solving the problems caused by medicines being used and providing solutions.

You can choose a programme with or without theses.

Pharmacists will be able to identify drug-related problems in patients with disease monitoring, provide patient presentation skills, develop patient-specific Pharmaceutical Care Plan, inform patients about drugs, provide drug terminology, laboratory findings and drug information sources in hospital and pharmacy environments. To be reinforced as a practical training in hospital and pharmacy environment.

During classes, approaches will be discussed in order to identify problems related to medicines interactively and addressing the problem, consolidating the points to be paid attention about medicines, providing the rational and correct drug use by combining the clinical and biochemical findings of the patient with the patient’s story by identifying the drugs to be used or knowing the problems arising from the drugs being used.

Aims of the programme

  • Ensuring the understanding of the the basic pharmacokinetic properties of drugs (clearance, distribution volume, half life, etc.).
  • Gaining the knowledge and skills to use pharmacokinetic information in practice and ensuring that the monitoring and evaluation of the drug blood level aiming at the optimal benefit, minimum toxicity of the treatment and individualisation of the dose.
  • Gaining the ability to conduct research for students in the non-thesis MS programs.
  • Reaching scientific articles, use of scientific search engines, reviewing articles and evaluating sources of information in a rational way, defining the basic parts of the literature, giving the skills how to make the evaluation and literature review rationally.
